The heat and mass transport phenomena in a parallel-plates membrane contactor used for solution regeneration in liquid desiccant air dehumidification. A unit cell consisting of one membrane and two neighboring air and solution fluids are selected as the calculation domains, The governing equations for the fluid flow and the heat mass transfer are established and solved via a boundary-fitted coordinate transformation method. The friction factor, Nusselt and Sherwood numbers in the unit cells are then obtained. The fundamental data under the conjugate heat and mass transfer boundary condition are compared with those under the uniform temperature and uniform heat flux boundary conditions.
