The i-angle is one of the most important specifications of levels. Concrete procedures to calibrate the i-angle of optical levels using a calibrator stand with collimators are presented,taking the DS3-Z level and DSZ3-1 level as examples. The experiments show that the i-angles of DS3-Z level and DSZ3-1 level are respectively reduced from 130. 4″ to 17. 2″ and 75. 0″ to 10. 2″ after calibrating,and that the calibrating results accord with National Specifications for the Third and Fourth Order Leveling.
