美国的科技投入在世界范围内占有极其突出的地位，本文依据美国“科学与工程指标”发布的数据，对美国1953年以来的相关研发投入情况进行了统计分析，探讨了美国研发投入的增长规律及其与基础研究投入的协调规律，并计算了其研发投入增长期的一些关键数据。目前我国正值科技投入的快速增长期，这些分析结果对我国现阶段的研发投入具有一定的借鉴意义。

英文摘要：

The United States holds a preeminent position in science and engineering in the world. In this paper, the growth laws of GERD and GEBR in the United States are discussed as well as the rule of its basic research investment corresponding to GERD based on the data since 1953 from the Science and Engineering Indicators. These results could provide good references to the R＆D investment in China.
