Recent studies have shown that acne is not only a kind of dermatosis but also a main presentation of many systemic diseases and syndromes. In some cases, aene reflects the presence of systemic abnormalities, and can serve as an ideal model for investigations into the interactions among hormones, innate/ acquired immunity, inflammatory response and genetic factors. To learn the progress in molecular mechanisms, clinical manifestations and treatment of ache-associated syndromes will be beneficial to the understanding of acne pathogenesis and development of new therapies for acne.
