批判性设计思维的培养是中国风景园林学科研究生教育实践面临的突出难题之一。美国得州大学奥斯汀分校(UT Austin)风景园林专业硕士(MLA)开设10余年来形成了较为鲜明的特色:通过系统化的“阅读研讨”型课程教学提升学生的批判性设计思维。“阅读研讨”型课程教学应用于专业理论类课程、高级设计课、生态类课程,存在“阅读研讨主导教学”和“阅读研讨辅助教学”2种方式。通过典型课例剖析和质性访谈,发现师生普遍认同“阅读研讨”型课程教学对于以设计实践能力培养为主要目标的MLA培养和学术型人才培养都具有重要意义,在培养自主发现问题能力、多视角解析问题能力、表达能力、个人设计哲学方面能够促进批判性思维形成,但会受到教学条件和培养规模限制。其经验可供中国风景园林学科研究生教育借鉴。
The development of critical design thinking is one of the main difficulties the domestic graduate education in LandscapeArchitecture is facing. The MLA program at UT Austin with a history of more than ten years has formed some distinct characteristics: toenhance students' critical design thinking through systematic "reading seminar" courses teaching. "Reading seminar" courses are mainlyapplied in theoretical courses, senior design courses, and ecology courses. There are two ways of application: reading seminar-ledcourseteaching and reading seminar-aided course teaching. Based on the result of typical course case study and in-depth qualitative interviews,teachers and students generally agree that "reading seminar" courses are of great significance both for the MLA training and academicpersonnel training. It can promote critical thinking in the aspects of independent problem-finding capability, multi-angle problemresolvingability, expression ability, and personal design philosophy. However, the teaching conditions and scale of training are restricted.UT Austin's experience can provide some references for the domestic graduate education in Landscape Architecture.
