Brain plasticity is the foundation of stroke rehabilitation, which is one of the hot issues in modern brain science research, and mainly relate to neurophysiology, neurochemistry, neuroimaging, and many other factors. Chinese medicine has a unique advantage in improving nerve function and promoting brain plasticity through multi-link, multi-target in the body. The current research focused on the single herbs, compound Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and several other key aspects, and the mechanisms involved were summed up and concluded in this paper in order to provide theoretical support for clinic application of Chinese medicine in promoting brain function rehabilitation after stroke.
