As a common disinfection agent, hypochlorous acid is widely used in daily life. Then endogenous hypochlorous acid is produced through the interaction of H2O2 and Chloride ion with the presence of myeloperoxidase from the neutrophils. Hypochlorous acid is a natural anti-microbial agent with broad spectrum, quick acting and low cytotoxicity under low concentrations. This review summarized the clinical study and application of hypochlorous acid.
