Based on the Birnbaum importance theory and its calculation method,a fault tree extension method and corresponding common cause decision diagram modeling method are proposed for the complex systems considering common cause failures.Aiming at improving the efficiency,a model of calculation for binary systems with common cause failures is established using binary decision diagram（BDD）.Case studies prove the validity of the common cause decision diagram based method.
