cDNA-AFLP technique is a new technology to conduct a comprehensive analysis of an organism's transcriptome. With the advantages of rich polymorphism, high stability, high efficiency, it has been widely used to study gene expression. With advances in science, the technology has been continuously improved and innovation, and made a lot of research results. The paper introduces the basic principles and the technical characteristics of cDNA-AFLP and outlines the application of the status on differences in gene expressions of plants. And its development prospects were discussed.
