The receptors on the surface of aeinar cells in salivary glands and their recept-mediated signal transduction pathways are the main factors for regulation of saliva secretion. In this article, the expressions of muscarinic cholinergic receptor, α1 and β- adrenoceptor, and vanilloid receptor in normal submandibular gland, and their effects on the regulation of saliva secretion were described. The authors' research results on the effects of receptors related to salivary glands on secretory regulation of the denervated, transplanted submandibular gland were introduced.
