The momentum exchange theory and its derivative mathematical model are used to predict the performance of a blo- wer, including head coefficients and the hydraulic efficiency. In addition, the effect of different blade thickness and blade num- ber on the performance of the regenerative blower is analyzed. The calculating result is conformed to the test result. Also, the pa- per gives an optimum blade number after analysis. Then the fatigue life of blade with different blade thickness is studied using Ansys Workbench, providing blade thickness with a reasonable range to lighten the mass of regenerative blower, and guarantee the performance of the machine. These results can provide reasonable evidence for the regenerative blower design in the future.
