The content of polysaccharide in fruits of mor/nda citrifolia was measured by phenol-sulfuric acid method. Wavelength for measurement was 490 nm and the converting factor was 1.26 ; good linearity range was obtained from 8 - 56mg/L, R2 = 0. 9984 ; the average recovery rate of Morinda citrifolia polysaccharide was 100.15 % with 0.8 % of RSD（n = 9） . The content of polysaccharide in fruits of Morinda citrifolia was 11.77 %. Analyse by gas chromatography shows that the water-soluble polysaccharide from Morinda citifolia is composed of fucose , xylose, mannose, galactose and fructose.
