本文利用UN Comtrade数据库,以SITC第七类产品即机械及运输设备为例,考察了2007—2012年期间在美国、欧盟和日本三个市场上,中国对21个中高收入国家出13的价格竞争效应。估计结果表明,中国出13价格与这些国家的出口价格显著正相关,这意味着,二者之间存在着价格竞争关系。随着中国出口价格的走低,这些国家出口价格也将发生相同方向的变化。进一步的研究表明,这种价格竞争关系因目标市场和产品来源地而异:相较于美国和欧盟市场,中国出口在日本市场上的价格竞争l效应更强烈;相较于其他产品来源地,中国对东亚与太平洋地区国家出口的价格竞争效应更大。我们的研究显示,这一价格竞争关系还与中国产品在目标市场所占的份额有关,中国所占的份额越高,他国在同一目标市场面临的价格竞争压力越大。
This paper explores the price effect of China's export on other countries and regions. We analyze the price effect of China's export to 21 medium-high income countries in the markets of the US, EU, and Japan. The estimation results show that the export price of China and the export prices of these 21 countries are positively correlated, indicating that there exists price competition between China and these countries. With China's export price going down, export prices of these countries also decline. Further investigation also suggests that the magnitude of this competition depends on the destination markets and the source countries of export. Compared to the US and EU, the price competition effect of China's export in Japanese market is more significant; compared to other source countries, the price competition effects of China in East Asia and Pacific Regions are more significant. In addition, we also find that the competition also depends on the share of China's export in destination markets. As China's share goes up, other countries will face more fierce price competition in the same destination market.
