针对目前视频编码标准和视频编码器较多、缺乏统一评价标准和客观评价结果的问题,提出了使用视频质量、编码速度、码率节省百分比、内存占用等指标相结合的评价体系,同时给出了评测平台的搭建方法。采用多个不同的公开视频序列为测试源,选取常见的H.264/MPEG—AVC、H.265/MPEG-HEVC、VP8、VP9标准和基于小波的Hitav对应的编码器搭建评测平台对各编码器进行性能评价实验。实验表明,H.265和VP9在视频质量、码流节省方面表现优异,但复杂度过高;H.264复杂度低且在低分辨率和简单视频场景表现优异;Hitav对高分辨高复杂度视频序列处理较好。结果表明提出的评价体系和测试平台搭建方法可以很好地用于视频编码器的性能评价。
For the lack of unified evaluation standard and objective evaluation results of various video standards and video encoders at present, this paper proposed an evaluation framework combined with indicators like video quality, coding speed, bit- rate saving percentage and memory cost, ere, and provided the ways to construct an evaluation platform at the same time. It adop-ted multiple different open video sequences as test sources, and selected corresponding video encoders of common video standards,including H. 264/MPEG-AVC, H. 265/MPEG-HEVC, VP8 and VPg, and Hitav based on wavelet, to build an evaluation platform and conducted evaluation experiments of encoders' performance. The experiments show that H. 265 and VP9 express outstanding performance in video quality and bitrate savings but with very high complexity, H. 264 has low complexity performs excellent in simple scenes, Hitav is good at dealing with the videos with high complexity and high space resolutions. The results show that the proposed evaluation framework and methods of constructing evaluation platform are very suitable for performance evaluation of video encoders.
