英文摘要：

Simon Stevin is a productive scientist and engineer in 16-17th century Europe, and his works on equal temperament fully embody the most enduring achievement, which influenced by various subjects. Based on Western history of mathematics and temperament theory and the related original literature, this paper analyze the calculating processes of twelve tone equal temperament by Simon Stevin. The restoration research of the calculating processes presents the first use axiomatic method to explore the rules of the equal temperament theory in the West.
