With the aid of the theory and method of geo-economic relationship measuring, we measure the geo-economic relationship of Vietnam and its major neighboring countries since its Opening-up in 1986. the result shows that, its geo-econornic relationship with Thai has undergone a transition from complimentary type to competitive type; with Indonesia and Philippines, has been in constant change; with India has also been a competitive type; with China, Malaysia and America mainly presents a compliment type.
