Financial system and capital market are playing an important role in the age of big data. This paper deeply analyzes the opportunities and challenges of the age of big data to the financial system and capital market from the perspective of financial functions. The study found that the essence of big data is the networking of the whole society and means a boost to the productivity. And finance will transform to the macrofinance because it＇s closely related to the real economy and people＇s life. Changes will also occur in the capital market, but the effect will be affected by the reconstruction process of the financial system and the other financial markets and internet companies. So we should conduct the top-level design of financial supervision and services from the networking point of view and break down the selfish departmentalism. The development and supervision of the capital market should be incorporated with the age of big data element as soon as possible and the whole security industry should also consider the big data strategy as soon as possible to meet the challenges of great change.
