The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is an effective tool in the electrochemistry investigations. It is widely used in the researches of materials. This paper reviews the applications of the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in the researches of metal materials, metal/polymer composite materials, semiconductor materials and other materials. The informations which can be obtained from the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy contain the changes of the structures and properties of materials and interracial properties, such as the charge transfer resistance and the interface capacitance of metal materials, the capacitances and the resistances of coatings of metal/ polymer composite materials, and the electron transfer and recombination properties of semiconductor materials.
