Viewing from the relation between entrepreneurs and innovations, the innovating process is one in which, prompted by their innovating motives, the entrepreneurs make policy decisions, optimize the allocation of resources and capabilities and promote the innovation making. As the subsisting classification of entrepreneurs fails to explain the motive resources that stimulate the entrepreneurs to take action, this paper puts forward a new classification of entrepreneurs based on their different pursuing objectives, and classifies them into the following two categories, enterprise-pursuing entrepreneurs and wealth-pursuing entrepreneurs, which lays the foundations for the further study in entrepreneurs＇ choosing of innovating ways and means.
