Objective To explore the nursing methods and effect observation of esophageal cancer patients undergoing thoracic surgery during extubation period. Methods 60 patients with esophagus cancer and treated by thoracic surgery in People's Hospital of Jiangshan City from January 2010 to December 2012 were selected and randomly divided into two groups with 30 cases in each, the control group was given the conventional extubation care, the observation group was given the quality nursing on the basis of the conventional extubation care, the occurrence of complications, the evaluation of the quality of life scores and patient satisfaction and comfort were observed. Results The incidence of adverse reactions in patients was 3.3%,it was lower than that of the control group (23.3%),the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).The quality of life scores before the treatment of the two groups were (72.18±5.59) and (71.59±5.48) points respectively, the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05); the quality of life scores out of the hospital in observation group were (78.11 ±4.36)scores,it was higher than that in control group [(78.11±4.36) scores],the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Patient care satisfaction was 100.00% in the observation group,it was obviously higher than that of the control group (86.67%),the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion The quality care of esophageal cancer patients undergoing thoracic surgery during extubation period can reduce patient complications and improve the patient's quality of life and satisfaction.
