Interleukin （IL） -5, mainly secreted by T-helper type 2 （Th2）, is related to chronic airway inflammation and hyper-response. It plays an important role in bronchial asthma. Recently, some remarkable results have been achieved in anti-IL-5 therapy through a number of animal experiments and clinical trails. This review described a progress in anti-IL-5 therapy for bronchial asthma and its clinical application.
