α,α＇-Bis（ arylmethylidene） cycloalkanones were synthesized from cycloalkanone and aromatic aldehydes using zirconium oxychloride as the catalyst. The products were confirmed by1 HNMR,13CNMR,IR and melting point. The reaction catalyzed by zirconium oxychloride has advantage of mild reaction conditions,simple workup procedures and easy isolation. The catalyst was inexpensive and environmentally friendly.
