More and more heat recovery ventilators are equipped in air-conditioning systems for reducing energy consumption in current days. The performances of a flat plate heat recovery ventilator under different operating conditions are investigated and discussed, and the relationship between performances and operating parameters of the ventilator are calculated. The result shows the differences between heat transfer resistance and moisture transfer resistance of the membrane, and the differences between the sensible heat transfer and latent heat transfer through the membrane are obtained and evaluated. The performances of the ventilator affected by some prime factors, such as the flow rate, the thickness of the membrane and absorption rate of moisture, are also analyzed and discussed.
