In the era of network relationship competition, interlocking directorates are not only an important phenomenon but also a new research direction in the field of corporate governance, which increasingly attracts extensive concern from academic and business circles. This paper sorts out and analyzes foreign research context and main viewpoints in the field of interlocking directorate networks, mainly being involved in the concepts of interlocking directorates and networks, the motive for interlocking directorate networks and related theories, the measurement of the structure of interlocking directorate networks, the effect of interlocking directorate network governance on corporate behavior and values and so on. Then it discusses the latest development, dynamic and tendency of this field. It proposes the main directions and key contents of future interlocking directorate network research.
