The predictions of residual stresses are most critical on the micro parts. An analytic model is presented. Finite element analyses are preformed at different velocity and feed rate for AISI 1045 to analyze the role of residual stress distribution and effect of the velocity and feed rate on residual stress. The results will optimize the microcutting processes and provides reliable basis for preventing fatigue failure of micro parts.
