Chitosan/graphene oxide nanocomposites were prepared by solution blending method. TEM observations showed that the graphene oxide (GO) was well dispersed in chitosan matrix. By incorporating GO into chitosan, both tensile strength and modulus of the nanocomposites were significantly increased due to the fine dispersion of GO and strong interfacial interactions between GO and the chitosan matrix, while their elongation at break decreased to certain extent.
