英文摘要：

Soundscape in Chinese classical garden is developed under lhe universe view of ＂harmony of man with nature＂, and is formed through the aesthetic refinement of poetry and painting arts and the experience of gardening practices with the philosophy background of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism integrated. Such soundscape doesn＇t focus on the control of sound in a physical manner; the more important is how to express human feelings through sound, and hence peace can be achieved and soul can be escalated. In this paper, the formation and development of the soundscape thought of Chinese classical garden are investigated, and its reJated social and cultural reasons are investigated as well. In this way, the characteristics of the soundscape thought of Chinese classical garden is revealed.
