设计了一种新型的电光调谐可重构光分插复用器(ROADM).由于采用电光效应作为调谐手段,它具有超高的响应和调谐速度.在X切Y传的铌酸锂晶片上以钛扩散工艺制作偏振分束器等波导结构,偏振转换电极和电压调谐电极交替分布,以相互正交的两个方向的电场诱发上/下载波长附近的偏振模式转换,进而实现滤波功能.其中偏振转换电极由结构相同的多组叉指电极组成,每组叉指电极独立供电.计算表明,合理选择各电极电压可得到25n133的调谐范围、1nm以下的输出频谱半极大值全带宽(FWHM)以及30dB以上旁瓣抑制,并且可以实现FWHM的动态可调.
A novel electro-optically tuned reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) has been designed, which has high response and tuning speed as electro-optic effect has been applied to tuning. Waveguides, such as the polarization beam splitters, were fabricated with titanium-diffusion technique on X-cut, Y-propagation lithium niobate wafer, on which the polarization converting electrodes and wavelength tuning electrodes were alternately arranged. The two types of electrodes induced polarization conversion around upload or download wavelength with orthogonal electric fields, so that wave filtering was achieved. The polarization converting electrodes consisted of sets of interdigital electrodes with identical structure, each of which employed independent voltage. Calculation results indicate that, with proper distribution of voltage among the electrodes, the tuning range of 25 nm, full width at half maximum (FWHM) of output spectra lower than 1 nm, sidelobe suppression more than 30 dB and dynamic tunability of FWHM can be achieved.
