The mineralogical characteristics of heavy mineral of core sediments from forty samples collected in the estuary of the Yalu River in 2006 were analyzed and tested.Thirty kinds of heavy minerals including 4 kinds of iron ores,6 kinds of main rock-forming minerals,5 kinds of epidote groups,6 kinds of pyroxene and tremolite groups,6 amphibole groups and 9 kinds of metamorphic minerals（including 4 kinds of indicative heavy minerals） were found.The sedimentary record reflects the sedimentary history of the land and sea interactions.Combined with 210Pb dating data and preliminary results,the research reveals the deep influence of human activities on riverbed evolution in the region over the past century.
