According to reference material, in history it is Zhougong who wrote the poem named ＂Chixiao＂ in the chapter ＂Binfeng＂ of Shijing. There is no conclusive evidence to justify modern scholars＇ skeptical theories on the writer. Recently the Bamboo Slips ＂Jinteng＂ has proved that actually ＂Chixiao＂ isn＇t written by Zhougong. In fact, he offered the poem to Chengwang to express some of his own thoughts when he returned after conquering the east. What he did is to eliminate the misunderstandings between the monarch and himself and to show his loyalty to the country, which reflected a high lev- el of political art.
