The characteristics and mechanisms of streamer discharge in liquid water are of importance for the sewage treatment, sterilization, underwater plasma sound source and the insulation of high-voltage devices. We constructed a stochastic model of the streamer growth in the discharge in liquid water. The model was based on the fractal theory and considered the generation of the bubbles of liquid water. Moreover, the influences of both applied voltage and conductivity of liquid water on streamer discharge were investigated. It is found that, when the applied voltage or the conductivity increases, the quantity of channel charge and the velocity of streamer propagation increase, hut the pre-breakdown delay time decreases. The simulated time dependence of streamer velocity, the dependence of streamer mean velocity on applied voltage, and pre-breakdown delay time versus the conductivity agree well with the reported results in former literatures.
