Based on the data of rural residents＇ income in different provinces, this paper re-estimates the income gap in 31 provinces from 1995 to 2009 using the ranging packet Gini coefficient Formula, analyzes the regional distribution and temporal evolution of Chinese Gini coefficient by statistical method, and gives an empirical test on the various factors＇ impact on the income gap using the dynamic GMM. Furthermore, this paper comprehensively studies the evolution of income gap and its determinants within Chinese rural areas, and tries to provide the evidence for understanding the income gap within Chinese rural areas from a macroscopic point of view.
