This study examined the influence of syntactic complexity on the development of syntactic awareness. The experimentor presented active sentences, Ba（把） and Bei（被） construction sentences with word order violation, and asked children to judge the grammatical acceptability of every sentence firstly and then revise the sentences which were judged as wrong. The results were that the performances of syntactic judgement and revision on different syntactic types were significantly different and showed significant age differences, furthermore, the error types of syntactic revision responses changed with age, which indicated that syntactic complexity influenced the development of syntactic awareness.
