Based on the Molecular Coulombic over Barrier Model (MCBM) used in classical description of slow ion-atom oollisions, the theory of reaction window related to projectile velocity is presented in detail with some modifications to the average radial velocity which affects the changes of the Coulombic barrier between the projectile and the target. The state-selective differential cross sections of single electron capture process in C^5+ -He and He^2+ -He collisions are calculated according to the theory, and are compared with the experimental data of E Y Kamber et al. (Phys. Rev. A, 1999,60:2907 - 2916) and V Mergel et al. (Nucl. Instr. and Meth. in Phys. Res. B, 1995,98: 593 - 596), respectively.
