Single-phase BiFeO3、Bi0.9Gd0.1FeO3 and Bi0.9Gd0.1Fe0.95Ti0.05O3(BGFTO) bulk ceramics were prepared by a rapid liquid sintering method. X-ray diffraction and Raman scattering spectra reveal that a structural transitiontion occurs for Gd and Ti codoped sample BGFTO. The ferromagnetic properties of BGFTO are remarkably improved with the coercivity 1.51 T and the remnant magnetization 0. 175 emu/g at room temperature. The enhanced magnetic properties can be attributed to the substitution-induced suppression of spin spiral structure. Codoping can provide a most effective way to induce spontaneous magnetization in BiFeO3.
