Using data from the interviewing data in rural county in middle China in 2007 and method of three levels coding based on grass theory, this paper explores stress and coping strategy of families with old unmarried male from perspective of family stress theory. The paper finds that old unmarried male have negative impact on family in economic, members relationship and psychological aspects. The study provides the theory basis for improving the welfare of old unmarried males and their families, alleviating marriage squeeze and promoting social stability.
