Two new pimarane-type diterpenes, xylarianes A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the crude extract of the fungus Xylaria sp. 290 along with one known compound of 16-hydroxy-isopimar-7-en-19-oic acid (3). The chemical structures of 1- 3 were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including 1D-NMR and 2D-NMR experiments and HR-ESIMS. The antitumor assay of compounds 1 -3 showed that they have no activities.
