Objective To explore the validity of the teacher assessment and parent assessment of development and well-bing assessment(DAWBA) for the genetic factors on mental health status in child twins. Methods A total of 93 twins at the age of 6 to 16,growing in a same family and same school were subjected in this study.Short tandem repeat DNA markers were used to identify monozygotic twins(MZ) and dizygotic twins(DZ).The teacher assessment and parent assessment of Chinese version were investigate on twins’ teachers and parents.Kappa analysis was used to analyze the concordance between the teacher assessment and the parent assessment of DAWBA.Results There were 50 MZ and 43 DZ in this study. The result of the DAWBA in teacher assessment showed that emotions disorder symptom(rMZ=0.549,P=0.000;rDZ=0.263,P=0.146),hyperactivity symptom(rMZ=0.667,P=0.000;rDZ=0.116,P=0.528),conduct disorder(rMZ=0.777,P=0.000;rDZ=0.153,P=0.403),Tourette syndrome/tics(rMZ=0.552,P=0.005;rDZ=-0.046,P=0.801),anorexia(rMZ=0.798,P=0.000;rDZ=-0.058,P=0.780),other concerns(rMZ=0.491,P=0.011;rDZ=0.327,P=0.068) and the correlation coefficient of MZ twins was more remarkable than those of DZ twins.Kappa analysis showed that the influence of the intrapair correlation coefficiency of emotional disorder(Kappa=0.004),hyperactivity disorder(Kappa=0.063),panic disorder(Kappa=-0.007),and other concerns(Kappa=0.000).The teacher and the parent assessment of DAWBA was not complete consistent. Conclusion Genetic factors play a vital role in child twins’ mental health growth. However, the result of their effects on mental health growth is not complete consistent through different assessment of DAWBA.
