The theory of the kidney storing the essence and controlling the reproductivity is a important ingredient of the theory of zangxiang in TCM,that is a basic cognition on the reproductivity. Form the point of the modern reproductive medicine,this article discuss about the above theory form several aspects including the theory of the kidney and Tiangui controlling the reproductivity of human; the form of ovum being based on the kidney essence and the discharge of ovum depending on the yang of the kidney; the form of sperm being based on the kidney essence and the motivation of sperm depending on the yang of the kidney; the kidney essence controlling the endometrial receptivity; the kidney essence controlling the quality and developmental potentiality of the embryo.
