Catalysts including Br nsted and Lewis acid or base catalysts, organic metal catalysts and ionic liquid for the Friedl inder condensation reaction are reviewed. Furthermore, the catalytic reaction mechanisms for some catalysts of the Friedl nder condensation reaction are also discussed.
