A singularly perturbed Robin type problem with an exponential boundary layer is considered. The problem is discretized by using the hybrid difference scheme on a Bakhvalov-Shishkin mesh. A uniform second-order error estimate is given in a discrete norm. Numerical experiments support these theoretical results and indicate that the estimates are stable.
