代谢组学是系统生物学的一个分支,是基因表达的终产物。代谢组学通过监测生物体内源性代谢产物的变化来反应机体的生理或者病理状态。在临床上主要应用于包括发现疾病机制,开发新的疾病诊断方法,发现跟疾病相关的生物标志物,评价中药整体药效及作用机制等。近年来,代谢组学技术逐渐被用于儿科疾病特别是呼吸系统疾病的研究中,为疾病的预防、诊断和治疗带来新的契机。文章综述了代谢组学技术在儿科呼吸系统疾病的5个不同领域的应用。
Metabolomics is a branch of system biology, in the strictest sense, 'the set of metabolites, and the final products of the genetic expression'. The metabolic study of an organism may make it possible to monitor, through the metabolites, the physiology or pathology of the organism itself. Metabolomics offers a holistic approach to discover the mechanism of disease, search new diagnostic methods of disease, explore disease-related biomarkers application, evaluate the holistic efficacies, and underlying mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicines. In recent years, metabolomics is used for the study of the pediatric diseases, specifically pediatric respiratory diseases, and brings a new chance in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases. The review covered the application of clinical metabolomics in five different areas of respiratory diseases in pediatrics.
