By analyzing core data, thin slice and logging data interpretation, this paper deeply investigated the reservoir characteristics and controlling factors of the Xu-2 member in Hechuan area. Reservoirs physical properties of study area are double controlled by sedimentation and diagenesis. The reservoir lithology mainly of the lithic arkose and the feldspathic litharenite belongs to low porosity and low permeability tight sandstone. Xu-2 member is mainly of the delta front facies deposition. The favorable sedimentary subfacies for reservoir are distributary channels and mouth bars. The favorable diagenesis for reservoir are rim chlorite cementation, denudation and tectonic disruption.
