Many public spaces in contemporary cities divorce themselves from everyday life of ordinary people, and thus be- come artificial scenes that put undue emphasis on visual impact and imaginary order. Based on the analysis of three land- scape paradigms of current urban pubic spaces, namely ＂Landscape of Ceremonies＂, ＂Landscape of Consumption＂ and ＂Landscape of Everyday life＂, this paper discusses the root cause of alienation of urban public spaces＇ and advocates ＂Landscape of Everyday life＂ that regards the residents＇ needs in their daily life as the starting point.
