Objective To explore the expression and significance of candidate tumor suppressor gene PBLD （Phenazine Biosynthesis Like Protein Domain） in colon cancer. Methods PBLD protein expression in colon cancer tissues and matched normal mucosa were detected by immunohistochemical stains. Correlation of PBLD proteinexpression levels and the clinical features and prognosis of patients were analyzed. Results The expression ofPBLD in colon cancertissues was significantly lower than normaltissues. The colon cancer tis-sues with the better differentiation had stronger expression of PBLD protein. Survival analysis showed that the overall survival time of the PBLD positive group was significantly longer than the PBLD negative group.Conclusions The expression o f PBLD is related to the differentiation of colon cancer and the prognosis of pa-tients. It can be used as a prognostic indicator and a target for treatment of colon cancer.
