The etiology and pathogenesis of trigeminal neuralgia（TGN） is unclear, and the diag- nostic criteria tends to be subjective, thus making the model has become a hot topic, while there are many difficulties to overcome. The model of chronic constriction ring of the infraorbital nerve has the features of simple operation and higher survival, therefore is widely used in the study of trigeminal neuralgia. Here is to make a review of the model of chronic constriction ring of the infraorbital nerve about the background, significance, research status and production methods.
