Song Dynasty is a highly developed cultural era popular for reading. Reading is an inexhaustible resources of spirit for Chinese nation as well as a necessary means to gain progress for individuals. Cultural elites as well as civilians, including officials, masters and the children of farmers, are eager to read. Most of them become celehritis or change their fates by reading. Nowadays people think highly of all aspects of Song Dynasty, from economy to science to culture which actually are based on their reading atmosphere at that time. The reading atmosphere and elegant state of intellectuals of Song Dynasty provide inspiration for us today which specify directions for reading and improve self-cultivation.
