Vascular endothelial cells (ECs) are constantly exposed to blood flow-induced shear stress, which has important impact on migration of ECs. And the station of ECs migration are essential to keep the vascular homeostasis. Numerous studies showed that migration of EC regulated by a variety of in vitro and in Vivo factors such as biological, chemical and physical. The impact of shear stress as a mechanical factor on ECs migration is important. This paper reviewed the impact of shear stress on ECs migration and the related modulation mechanism.
