学生在使用英语进行交际的过程中面临许多困难,而且经常会导致交际的中断甚至失败,其原因在于学生具备语言知识而缺少交际能力。J.Thomas的“语用失误”理论可用于解读这些交际过程中的现象。我国大学生使用英语交际时所出现的困难主要是语言语用失误。在大学英语课程的教学中应用针对跨文化语用失误的策略,可以增强学生的交际能力,提升其英语交际的有效性。
Students face many difficulties in the process of communication in English, which often results in breakdown, or even failure of communication. The reason for that is the lack of communicative competence although they posses English language knowledge. J. Thomas's "pragmatic failure" theory can be used to interpret these phenomena. Pragmalinguistic failures are the main reasons by Chinese students while communicating in English. By employing strategies for cross- cultural pragmatic failure in College English teaching, the communicative competence of students can be enhanced, and their communication in English will become more effective.
