Selecting the literature on the knowledge sharing research in the Web of Science database during 1990 -2015 as data source, and combining the bibliometric methods and indexes with social network analysis techniques, the article makes an measurement in five aspects: scientific output, scientific influence, subject areas, author distribution and research topics and hot spots. The scientific research output of knowledge sharing has remarkably increased and mainly concentrates in the developed capitalist countries such as USA and England. USA is the primary scientific literature producer. The scientific influence of USA is the strongest, but Mainland China exhibits fairly poor scientific influence. Knowledge sharing is investigated more widely and shows the significant characteristics of multidisciplinary and subject integration. The level of overall cooperation is relatively high, and has not yet formed a stable and high-yield author group. These themes such as social capital, social network, social media, climate change and other topics should be given attention to.
